I need some help with the mentality of unburned powder. What I mean by this take for example 6.5×284 everything I’ve read says you don’t want to go shorter then a 24” barrel or you have too much unburned powder and you loose performance, but here is my confusion. If the goal is to: get 6.5mm going as fast as it can out a 18-20” barrel for <600 yrd shots. Why wouldn’t I pick 6.5×284 over 6.5 Creedmoor? Sure I’m handicapping the x284 but I’m also getting better velocity then a Creedmoor. Why wouldn’t I want to do this? Any explanations and IMO’s all welcomed
