What I’m wondering is; what is a good medium ranged optic for an M4 shooting 55-62 grn.
I really really love the idea of an ACOG, but realistically I don’t shoot as much as I’d like to necessitate a $1K optic.I’d like something in the 3-5 fixed magnification range.
If it helps I have a 16” barrel
Thanks for any and all comments. -

If you are running in competition and shoot from 5-400 yards….LPVO is the best option. I tried acogs but close up they suck. Fixed prism is not comfortable in changing environment.

GuestJune 14, 2021 at 9:46 amFixed magnification, go prism. Vortex and Primary Arms are good if you can find them in stock. If you don’t care about illumination, there are some good fixed scopes out there. I ran a Nikkon P-Tactical 3x for a while and liked it. It was $150. They’re out of the game now, but that’s just an example.

GuestJune 14, 2021 at 9:46 amWhat’s your budget? I use a Vortex UH-1 and a Burris 3x magnifier on my primary rifle. It’s still close to $1000 all set and done. You could try the Primary Arms prism scopes, and I think Vortex makes one now too.
