u/ENclip’s [fantastic post on Turkish shotguns](https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/n4zbt9/turkish_notsodelight_why_you_should_generally/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) has inspired me. I am going to write an FAQ style post on the various current AR-15 cartridges. I bring this up here just to get general thoughts/specific suggestions from anyone with deep knowledge/strong opinions on the subject.
I’m going to write a blurb on history, along with twist rate, barrel manufacturers, ammo manufacturers, magazines, intended uses, etc. for each cartridge.
I’ve assembled a list as follows, .223 Remington / 5.56mm Nato, 6.5mm Grendel, 6mm ARC, .224 Valkyrie, 6.8 SPC, .300 Blackout, .300 Ham’r, .204 Ruger, .350 Legend, 7.62x39mm, 9x39mm, .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM, .375 SOCOM, .50 Beowulf, 5.7x28mm, 9mm Luger, .40 Smith & Wesson, .45 ACP, 10mm Auto, .22 Long Rifle, .17 HMR.

I’m starting to love the driving range and pure-leaf unsweetened iced tea. I’m becoming an old man.
Audible premium subscription, I’m listening to book 1 of The Expanse. Saw the first season or two of the show so it’s all coming back. Pretty well done.
Had family recently retire from LE with a decent stash of 40. I have a PPQ in 40 but it’s not the best gun. I don’t think Walther really put much effort into it because they were never gonna get a European LE contract for a 40, and they weren’t gonna unseat Glock in the US for contracts. So the PPQ 40 is a bit finicky and I’ve seen some malfunctions out of it. Love my 9mm Walthers though.

I was looking to buy a nice (but not O/U nice) shotgun for sporting clays, skeet, and upland fowl. I’ve done a lot of research and I’ve narrowed it down to the Remington 870 Wingmaster and Browning BPS. I’d love to hear people’s thoughts about the pros/cons of each, as I am really having a hard time deciding. I’ve read the past posts about picking a pump action from this sub, but I know the quality of the models can change from year to year, and I’d love to hear the current wisdom on buying in the $600-$1000 range (no pun intended).
I’m open to other contenders of comparable or better quality – I was considering the Winchester M12 and the Ithaca M37, but those seem a little harder to find.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Edit: thank you all for the great tips! I will definitely look for removable chokes. And I had heard bad things about Remington’s recent quality, so good to know I should be looking for an older model!

I’ve been hankering for a good bolt action battle rifle for a while, and have been looking for a Gewehr 98 at not an insane price. Friend of a friend picked one up at Cabela’s for 700, so I know they’re out there. Buddy of mine in the reenactment world is going to keep his ear to the ground but warned me that a lot of those guys don’t like selling to “people not in the community”
I think ‘rona pricing is going to make this harder than I want

Thanks to the gentleman /u/NewtoMilsurps who generously **gifted** me some M1 Garand food, me and my dad are going to be shooting our new Garands this weekend, weather permitting. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some pictures with the rest of the IHC family if you guys can excuse a little mud/dirt on some (it’s still farming season and dad’s got stuck twice now)
So I switched back to the eSun PLA+ and am trying another G19. I noticed the stuff from gsd3d.com was very stringy which made support clean up difficult. It should be done tonight and hopefully it doesn’t have the crack like the last one. I’ll be happy for now if I can get one to assemble. Time will tell

Is it worth driving 5 hrs (round trip, about 250 miles) to buy a Benelli Nova for $250? I mean, its like $50 in gas and Red Bull to go that far on a weeknight too so $300. 28″ barrel threaded for chokes

Second dose went in on Monday – I felt fine though might have had an upset stomach, not sure it’s related. Wife got mega-fatigue but not much else. I took off yesterday just in case, kind of rested a bit. Still a bit sad I don’t pick up AM/FM from the chips.
I like the P226 so far – but is there anything to help reduce the creep? It’s got a quick break and reset, but there’s a few miles of ‘nothing’ before it actually hits.
Anyone got hobbies aside from guns? I like doing the parts shopping and fitment, hunting for the ‘right’ one and putting everything together. But at some point I just can’t justify yet-another-gun because I’ve got too many to shoot _already_, and the wife gives me the stinkeye if I suggest buying another one (same as I give her for suggesting some home-related projects since we haven’t finished most of those).

What uppers pair well with Radian lowers?
Should I wait for the Radian uppers to become available in 15 months or try something else?

Anyone known where the hell I can get CZ P10s magazines? They seem nonexistent on the secondary market.

Anybody know if the Serbu Shorty is OoP? It’s not on the website anywhere, except you can buy a holster for it.
I have no earthly use for it, obviously. And it’s sure to command a price I wouldn’t go for. So this is just idle curiosity. Though it would be funny to to launch cans from my can cannon while someone uses the Shorty for skeet.

I think one of my KKM barrels is fucked. There’s a slight ridge about a 1/4″ above the rifling. It’s leaving marks on the factory round that I’m plunking in to check my chamber reaming depth. Probably need to call them and get some information, cause I probably went too deep on the reaming otherwise, my second barrel only needs about a 1/16th of an inch to get an empty case flush with the barrel hood.

can anyone who’s ACTUALLY handled both Goon Tape and regular hockey tape like howies or renfrew tell me what the difference is? i’ve heard the assumptions but haven’t heard any actual hands on comparisons

Wanting a P365, a Ruger 57, and a Switchback 22. Why does things costs moneys.
