  What size trolling motor battery do you use?

  Hey everyone! I’m looking to add the 30lb Minn Kota trolling motor to my tandem frontier 12. I mostly go out alone, but I do occasionally bring one of my kids out with me. Paddling 2 ~200lb dudes around is, as you can imagine, a bit tiring. Due to that, I’m looking to add the trolling motor to help us jump from spot to spot. However I’m not positive about the battery sizing. I’m thinking a ~50Ah Should suffice, but I figure experience always trumps theory, so I come to you all for help.
  Do you think a ~50Ah battery will be enough to push us around for a few hours? I would (in theory..) only be using the max speed when jumping from spot to spot.
  What size motor and battery do you all use?
