I can sort of understand the higher costs generally: better metallurgy, machining tolerances, and testing but those seem to make sense to me with sporting rifles (more parts/moving parts) and maybe even some hunting rifles.
Since shotguns are simpler, esp break action/ over-under, I have a hard time explaining the costs. Maybe I’m grossly oversimplifying it?
