I only store ammo like this if it’s the same grain, brand, and same lot # so you don’t get recall ammo mixed in with good ammo.

I too store ammo in bulk. I have a 35 gallon trash can I just dump any ammo I get into. It’s like a pharm party, you never know what you’re gonna get in a handful

I prefer the factory boxes. It’s easier for me to keep track of, and I can just grab however many boxes I want for any given range trip.

If you leave it in factory packaging you can resell. Then your ammo reserves become an asset like gold. That’s what I tell my wife anyways…

I keep most of mine in the boxes but I’ll dump some in a can like that here and there. I just like running my hand through it because it gives me the warm and fuzzies 🤤

Not me. I like to know how much I have.

I just keep them in their original boxes. It tends to be better for long term storage. Had some steel case ammo rust due to a heat wave when stored loose.

If I buy in bulk it gets stored in bulk. If I buy in boxes, it stays in boxes.

I typically bag them into 100rd bags if they’re loose like this. Helps me keep track of my numbers.

Is there any other way? Storing it OG boxes seems ok if you only have a a couple boxes but 1000rds or more requires the can.
And anyone who takes the ammo out of boxes and puts it in those plastics reload-individual spaces- boxes should seriously reconsider their life choices.

Most of mine is in the factory boxes, but I do keep a few cans full of 500-600 rounds of each caliber for range trips.
