My libertarian brother is one of these open carry assholes. He made the mistake of telling me once that he thought it reassured everyone to see him walk in with his glock shoved in his pants because then they knew that a good guy with a gun was there to handle things if anything went wrong. When I was done laughing at him I said the only thing people think when they see him is “oh great, another ammosexual nutjob…I hope no loud noise startles this crazy jackass.”

He’s just playing dress up, as the mythical republican super hero: “good guy with gun” who’s here to stop all the bad guy shooters, without infringing on the rights of all the proud patriotic good guy shooters.

I would say he is doing this to upset people. Kinda like how the Navy does freedom of navigations in disputed Waters.
The way he has the rifle sling it would take a moment or two to get it up and ready. That is assuming he has ammo in that magazine.
Also judging by the background it looks like he’s in a Starbucks. I would say he is doing this just to piss of people, or he lost a bet.
