GuestJune 14, 2021 at 8:44 amI shot a friends older Bowtech a couple years ago on a camping trip. My first time shooting a compound.
I was amazed at the use of a peep site and pins, as it felt like aiming a gun, which I shoot regularly.
Anyway, wanted one for years and finally found a super clean Mathews HTR No Cam for a great price locally.
Bought it and fell in love. Shot as much as possible (daily) for weeks. Got some instruction from a coach and kept improving.
Then, one day I go outside, itching to shoot. I just got a new Bulldog target, Kid was being annoying, just wanted to get outside.
Head out, aim at target, take a deep breath, take my shot, and the strangest noise ever happened… and my bowstring was slack.
My heart sank as I didn’t hear an arrow hit the target.
I dry fired my bow. Blew the mods up, not sure yet about the cams. It’s at the shop getting inspected.
I was super bummed as I’ve really been enjoying the meditation of shooting and focusing on improving.
I realized it would be at least a week before it was fixed. Then I realized that for the $300 I paid for this bow, it might not even be worth repairing and selling it if costs that much to fix.
So I rationalized the purchase of a Mathews V3 in UA Forest All-Season because it’s my birthday soon.
It’s amazing and I love it.
I’m still super bummed about the no cam, and hopeful that only the mods are damaged, but we will see.
Either way, I’ll keep a piece of it alive on the V3 with the Lost Camo quiver.

GuestJune 14, 2021 at 8:44 amHard to tell from the pic, is it the 27 or 31? I’m going next weekend to get mine! I’m getting the green ambush color I think. But I’m torn between the two riser lengths. My last bow was the halon with 30″ ATA so I’m thinking about going with the 31″
